Questions
The ones I am usually asked
- Can I only have lessons if I am studying for an exam?
- No. You can have lessons even if you aren't working toward an exam.
- How often should I have lessons?
- Once a week for most people. Twice suits intensive stretches — an exam, a move, a deadline — but past that the limit is usually how much you can absorb between lessons rather than how much you can pay for.
- What if I need to move a lesson?
- Give me 24 hours and it moves free, as often as you need. Inside that window the lesson is charged, because the slot cannot realistically be filled. Genuine emergencies are not charged; I would rather be occasionally taken advantage of than get this wrong in the other direction.
- Do blocks expire?
- No. Life interrupts, and an expiring block just punishes you for that. If you disappear for three months the remaining lessons will still be there.
- Can I get a refund on an unused block?
- Yes, on the unused lessons, at any point and without a reason. Used lessons are charged at the single-lesson rate and the difference is returned.
Still cheaper than not being understood
If the cost is the thing standing in the way, say so in your enquiry. There is some flexibility, and I would rather teach you than hold the line on a number.
